Dharma Holistic Therapies & Crafts will be reopening on 12th April 2021. All appointments on reopening will be reserved for existing clients and people who have gift vouchers to use that were issued in 2020 or earlier. I will review taking on new clients when restrictions allow time for face to face consultations once more. All clients must read and confirm that they have read the information on the COVID-19 page of the website before they can book an appointment.
Below is the old school method of booking an appointment. I have left it here because I am forever the optimist and am hoping that one day we will be able to go straight back to booking appointments as we did in bygone times. Existing clients, please contact me as you usually would and I will talk you through how to book an appointment. I am not currently in a position to take bookings from new clients.
Booking your appointment
If you are booking an appointment with me for the first time please call me on 07915924958. First appointments cannot be made via text message or email.
Follow up appointments can be made via text message or email as well as over the phone. You can also contact me through my Facebook page.
My therapy room is situated within the boundary of my home. With this in mind, please remember that bookings are strictly by appointment only.
Appointments must be kept to the agreed time so as not to impact on other clients.
Sometimes things happen, and I understand that occasionally people need to cancel appointments. Cancellations do however have a big impact on business, so please give 24 hours notice wherever possible so that your appointment can be offered to someone else.
Complementary therapy is just that - complementary. These treatments work alongside conventional medicine and are in no way a substitute for the advice or treatment you have been given by a medical professional. Some complementary/holistic therapies are not suitable for people with certain health conditions and for this reason it is necessary to complete a full consultation at your first appointment to establish suitability. Please inform me if you are pregnant or have any major health conditions (including but not exclusively - diabetes, epilepsy, heart condition, cancers) prior to your appointment. Occasionally, GP consent is required before a treatment can take place and there are certain conditions when unfortunately, treatment must be refused.
How to get here
The full address of where you need to get to will be given to you when you make your appointment.
Access to my therapy room (The Dharma Hut) is over gravel and up a step, please let me know if you think this may cause you problems.
There is no reception area or waiting room so please do not bring anyone with you to your appointment unless a chaperone is required for the treatment.
There is a free car park directly opposite my home (one way system in place). If this is full, then you can park with consideration directly on the road outside. The car park and road is not the responsibility of Dharma Holistic Therapies & Crafts and the vehicle and it's contents are left at the vehicle owner's risk.
Before your appointment
If you find you are feeling unwell prior to your appointment (cough, cold or any type of infection), please show consideration and cancel your treatment "Coughs and sneeze spread diseases" applies! It is also bad practice to treat anyone with any kind of infection, regardless of where that infection is in the body. I reserve the right to refuse treatment to any person at any time so if you're not sure, please call to check.
Do not eat a large meal before your appointment. A light snack up to an hour before is OK. Do not drink alcohol before your appointment. Treatment will be refused to anyone under the influence of alcohol and/or recreational drugs of any kind.
If you wear nail varnish, please remove it before your appointment if you are having reflexology. You can tell a lot from a person's nails!
You will need to remove face make up and contact lenses before a face massage.
Wear comfortable clothes and, as might be expected, oils are used in some treatments so please don't wear your best, silk finery!
What to expect
Your appointment will take place in The Dharma Hut, a cosy and restful, purpose built wooden building in my garden and there is W.C available to clients.
I don't run a spa. This is a place of peace, light and beautiful energies.
At your first appointment, it is necessary for me to fill out an in depth consultation form about you. It can take up to 15 minutes to complete (depending on what information I am given) so please allow the time. This is completely confidential and your information is kept secure. I will not treat anyone who refuses a consultation.
Once the consultation has taken place and you are deemed suitable for treatment, you will be helped to make an informed decision about your chosen therapy (if you are undecided). You will be talked through what to expect from the chosen treatment. Any questions you have about the treatment can be answered.
You will be left alone for a few minutes to get yourself ready for your chosen therapy.
Once you have had your treatment, you will be given a few minutes alone to compose and reflect. Once I have given you some after care advice, you have drank some water and have paid for your treatment, you are free to go on your relaxed and merry way!
Payment must be paid in full at the time of the appointment. I accept all major credit/debit cards. Cash is not currently being taken for hygiene reasons. Payment can be made through BACS or PayPal before or during your appointment. Details will be given when necessary.
