Welcome to Dharma Holistic Therapies & Crafts

Update......

Dharma Holistic Therapies & Crafts is temporarily closed for business. Cheshire West and Cheshire is currently in Tier 4 of the the Covid-19 restrictions and I am therefore unable to see clients at this time. I will reopen for existing clients and those who were given gift vouchers before the pandemic as soon as I am able to. At the moment, I hope to review taking on new clients in Spring 2021.
Keep safe and well.
Helen

Welcome to Dharma Holistic Therapies & Crafts

Hello, I'm Helen. I am a holistic/complementary therapist based in Chester, Cheshire. In 2009, I decided on a career change. I had always been fascinated with complementary therapies and received regular treatments myself so when I decided to change career, I seized the opportunity to re-train to do something I loved and passionately believed in.

So, in 2010, Dharma Holistic Therapies came into being.  I provide therapeutic, holistic and complementary therapies to nourish the mind, body & spirit, working on both the physical and energetic bodies of my clients. I believe that many physical ailments can have an underlying cause or be exacerbated by emotional issues, which is why a truly holistic approach is so important. This isn't just about stress relief, this is about finding time to reconnect with who you really are. It's about taking time out to be still and listen to what your soul is telling you.

I am also passionate about the world we live in. My previous life was in conservation so I love nature - both flora and fauna, and I am strongly committed to keeping my little business as ethical as my personal life and strive to have as little impact on the environment as possible. I only use organic oils and floral waters and ensure that they are sustainably sourced. I truly believe that the way we have come to live our lives in present times is effecting our health and I am a big advocate for finding natural, cruelty free and chemical free alternatives to the products we use in our homes and on our bodies, reducing our environmental impact as you go is just as important. As the environment is so important to me, I became painfully aware after 6 years of building my business as a mobile therapist that my carbon footprint was getting bigger.  So three years ago, I created my own space.

I wanted to provide more than a service to my clients. I wanted somewhere that my clients would look forward to visiting rather than see me as "another appointment" they had to get to. I wanted to create something unique, something that reflected me as a person as well as a professional therapist. So, after a hard slog and more hours tied to a paintbrush than I dare to count, I am now the proud owner of a beautiful little cabin. Affectionately known as The Dharma Hut, I now have a cosy and calming space, filled with colour and light on the outskirts of Chester.

Welcome to the Dharma Hut!

I am a member of The Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and I am qualified to practice Indian Head Massage, Tsuboki® Japanese Face Massage, Hopi Ear Candling, Aromatherapy Massage, Hot Stones Therapy, Reiki, Reflexology and Reproflexology - Reflexology for male and female fertility. I also hold a foundation certificate in Crystal Therapy and I incorporate crystals into my Reiki practice.

Dharma Crafts evolved over time, with a much loved hobby gradually growing into a part of my little business. I love to make natural crafts, with my home grown, hand made smudge sticks being one of my best sellers but I also have non artisan items for sale such as luxurious, organic, soy wax candles and sugar cane reed diffusers, fair-trade incense, natural soaps from Friendly Soap, plastic-free herbal tea bags, organic hand sanitiser, home made cotton face coverings, self help books, Himalayan salt tea light holders, crystals and gemstone bracelets.  As my workspace is only small, I like to change the products I sell from time to time to keep things fresh for my clients, so look out for new stock in the future.  One thing they all have, and will always have in common though is a spiritual/ethical/holistic ethos - as that is what my Dharma is all about.
