Before your appointment.... Please read this page carefully. You will need to confirm that you have read and understood the new conditions/safety measures that are in place before you can book an appointment.
Updated 17th July 2021
You will be contacted 24 hours before EVERY appointment by text message with a few questions relating to COVID-19. I will fill out a form on your behalf before you arrive based on the answers you give, and you will need to check and sign it when you arrive. These questions must be answered before your appointment. Please bring your own pen with you.
If you have needed hospital treatment due to COVID-19 at any point since the pandemic began, you must obtain consent from your GP before I can offer you a treatment.
If you feel unwell, even if you do not suspect that your symptoms are related to Covid-19, you must cancel your appointment. THERE IS NO GREY AREA. Please be aware that while the most common symptoms of COVID-19 are a new, persistent cough, tiredness, loss of taste or smell and fever, less common symptoms include aches and pains, sore throat, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, headache, skin rash or discolouration of fingers and/or toes.
I will cancel your appointment immediately, should I, or a member of my household feel unwell.
Your temperature will be taken and you will be required to sanitise your hands on arrival. I will also take my own temperature every morning before starting work and engage in frequent handwashing before, during and after your treatment.
I recommend that you do not come for a treatment within 48 hours of having either of your COVID-19 vaccinations.
You must not come for a treatment if you are waiting for the results of a COVID-19 test.
Appointments will remain limited to allow for increased ventilation and extra cleaning between treatments. This means appointments are at set times to allow me to fit in as many appointments as possible during the day.
You can no longer book appointments on behalf of other people. I must have contact with each client directly before they book. The communication required prior to treatment is now part of the consultation process and is therefore confidential.
If you were classed as clinically extremely vulnerable (you received a letter from your healthcare team that told you that you must shield yourself for a given period of time), please contact me by telephone to discuss your personal circumstance so that I can complete an individual risk assessment.
You must inform me if you have returned from overseas travel, or if anyone in your household has returned from overseas travel, in the 10 days before your appointment.
There is an official NHS QR poster on display in the treatment room. You may check in with this using the NHS COVID-19 App when you arrive for your appointment, if you wish. Regardless of whether you choose to check in using the App or not, your contact details and the time of your arrival and departure are recorded and will be given to NHS Test and Trace if requested. Sharing your details in this way does not go against laws surrounding Data Protection. Please note that although these details are only required to be held for 21 days for the purpose of NHS Test and Trace, it is an industry requirement for all client records to be kept for 10 years and this will not change. Your records are kept securely and comply with Data Protection legislation.
Treatment times have been revised as follows.
Back & Leg Massage - 60 minutes (£32.00) Back & Shoulder Massage – 45 minutes (£27.00) 60 minutes (£32.00) Reflexology – 45 minutes (£27.00) 60 minutes (£32.00) Reiki – 45 minutes (£27.00) Indian Head Massage - 45 minutes (£27.00) Japanese Face Massage – 45 minutes (£27.00) Ear candling - 40 minutes (£27.00) Full Body Massage -75 minutes (£37.00)
All treatments are strictly by appointment only. Clients are not permitted to book appointments or make enquiries at the house. Anyone wishing to pick up vouchers or other purchases must do so at a prearranged time.
It will not be possible to mix and match your treatments at this time. Each appointment will be for one type of treatment only. I have reviewed my working practices to minimise the duration of contact with the client so far as is reasonably practicable and we must keep the amount of time we spend in the treatment room to a minimum.
A full hygiene checklist is worked through before every single appointment. The treatment room and client bathroom is ventilated and every surface and touch point you may come into contact with is disinfected/sanitised before you arrive.
You should arrive for your appointment at the set time as usual. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
Personal hygiene. Clients are encouraged to arrive for their appointment in clean clothes, especially if they are coming to their appointment straight from their place of work. My own work wear is changed throughout the course of the day.
It will be necessary for me to keep the treatment room window open during your treatment to allow for adequate ventilation. If you feel that an increase in external noise will disturb your treatment, please defer your appointment to another time.
Clients must bring their own bottle of water. Water will not be available for you in the therapy room as usual. Please consider the environment and bring a reusable bottle if possible.
Please only bring with you what you need Oversized/extra bags (shopping etc) will not be permitted in the therapy room. Small hand bags for personal belongings are fine.
Phones MUST be switched off prior to treatment. If your phone rings during a treatment, it will not be handed to you for you to turn it off. You will not be permitted to take or make phone calls in the therapy room to eliminate the need to raise your voice.
Payment must be made by card or BACS only.
Face Coverings. It is no longer mandatory for clients to wear a face covering when coming for a treatment, however it is recommended that you do. My treatment room is small and I respectfully request that you continue to wear your face covering when in the treatment room, unless you are exempt from wearing one.
I will continue to wear a face covering when conducting your treatment. Please let me know in advance if you rely on lip reading for communication.
And finally! For added peace of mind, I am qualified in Infection Control (specific to COVID-19) and have completed a semi-quantified risk assessment on my practice. This risk assessment is reviewed regularly. The safety of you, my family and myself is my absolute top priority which is why I have engaged in this further study. Any decisions made are based on up to date information available from the World Health Organisation, my professional body (FHT) and the most current Government guidelines, all of which are being regularly reviewed.
You can now contact me if you would like to make an appointment.
Thanks for reading, I'm looking forward to treating you! Helen
